Committee Members


	Luke Rajah *President* As President it is my job to represent the views and opinions of the Caius MCR student body to the College and the University at large. I am also in charge of the overall running of the MCR Committee and this involves organizing events inside and outside of College for the Caius MCR student body. Please get in touch if you have any questions about studying at Caius, the MCR, or if you think there is anything we can do better!
	Chang-Ho Yoon *Treasurer* The Treasurer is responsible for maintaining and keeping an eye on the MCR accounts, to ensure that the Committee doesn’t over (or under) spend, and that all of the money goes to the right places. As part of this, the Treasurer provides regular reports on the status of the accounts to the MCR Committee and an annual report to the College Council. If you have any questions about the accounts, international law, or life in general, please feel free to contact me.
	Alastair Blake *Secretary* The Secretary produces the agenda and minutes of MCR Committee Meetings. He also completes the bureaucratic element of arranging bops or similar events by working with college authorities, writing to Fellows, organizing rotas, and so forth. Please feel free to contact me on any matter all; the least I can do is point you to the right person.
	James Shepherd & Richard Timms *Dining Officers* As dining officers we organise a number of dining events each term, like exchange dinners with other colleges, guest nights and dinner with the fellows. During an exchange dinner we host MCR members from other colleges in the Caius MCR for drinks and dinner in the gallery one evening. On a subsequent evening we join them for formal hall in their college. It is a great way to see some of the other 32 colleges in Cambridge. For a guest night a special menu will be prepared by the kitchens, making this the best occasion to invite friends and family to dine with you in college. We also act as a point of contact between the MCR and the kitchen office, so please e-mail us with questions, ideas and both positive and negative comments on dining related issues.
	Caroline Sogot & Karla Borland *Social Officers* As Social reps, it’s our jobs to make sure life in Cambridge is fun. We aim to do this in many ways - starting with the infamous Caius grad bops (a bop is Cantabrigian for a party!). Let’s just say that things happen at these events, and they keep people talking for weeks afterwards!
	Ian Davies *Computer Officer (Temporary)* My job as Computing Officer is to keep the website running smoothly, maintain the MCR mailing lists and to deal with any other computing issues that graduate students might have. Please get in touch if you have any computer-related problems, requests or suggestions.
	External Officer (Position Available) *External Officer (Position Available)* As External Officer, you would venture far and wide outside of Caius to represent the MCR at external meetings such as the Graduate Union and CUSU council and voting on matters that come up. You would also liase with the JCR and attend their weekly meetings, making sure that issues of concern to Graduates have representation.
	Welfare Officer (Position Available) *Welfare Officer (Position Available)* As MCR welfare officer you would do your best to offer advice to Caius grads and, if you're not able to help, put them in touch with the people who are. The committee as a whole is dedicated to making sure that every graduate student enjoys their time at Caius. All welfare emails would be kept completely confidential. You would provide MCR members with condoms, pregnancy tests and attack alarms on request, and also maintain the condom box in the Harvey Road basement common room.
	Pavel Riha *International Officer* I'm here for all international students at Caius. I hope I can make settling in and living in the UK easy and enjoyable! Please feel free to approach me if you need anything or have any issues you'd like to discuss.
	Women's Officer (Position Available) *Women's Officer (Position Available)* As Women’s Officer you would be there to ensure that all women are having a good time at Caius! You would be the first point of contact for any women having trouble either with their work or private life. You would do your best to help you and provide details of professional services if needed. You would provide condoms, pregnancy tests and attack alarms as well.
	David Chuah *Married Officer* As married officer it’s my job to make sure that all married students and their spouses, as honorary MCR members, receive the full benefit of college life. I represent married couples to the MCR committee, assist with any problems related to family life (accommodation, childcare, etc.) and organise social events for married Caians and their families. If you’re already married, or rapidly approaching that status, then please get in touch.
	Green Officer (Position Available) *Green Officer (Position Available)* As Green Officer you would be here to try and help everyone be a little ‘greener’, whether that’s just by ensuring everyone knows what, when and how they can recycle or by arranging events to try and highlight Green issues.
	First Year Rep (Position Available) *First Year Rep (Position Available)* Apart from organising Freshers’ Week at the start of the academic year, which is a week of great fun, your role as first year rep would be to represent all first year postgraduate students.
	Andrew Simpson *CGAS Rep* The Caius Graduate Arts Society exists to provide the more academic side to the MCR. We organise presentations of current students' research, invite interesting speakers to come to College, and organise play readings, poetry readings and photography exhibitions for the MCR.
